Mechanism works well and it has a 3 lampholder fitting within so emits a very good light when lit. New ivory silk skirt can be dyed to spec easily. Circa 1906

Rare Victorian ex-gas surprise pendant with silk shade. The 'surprise' is the ability to rise and fall as required with the aid of decorative lead filled weights along the arms. The mechanism is superb and provides a good deal of drama to these lights. Very fine cast design on the weights, along the arms and around the harp support. The shade was the original one and will be remade to the buyers spec. Circa 1890
